Product description

An elegant cube-shaped pendant light designed by renowned Czech lighting designer Jaroslav Bejvl Sr. for Lustry n.p. Preciosa, Kamenický Šenov.
It is composed of twenty square glass panels with intricate pressed and cut patterns, produced by Osvětlovací sklo, Valašské Meziříčí.
The combination of heavy, optically rich glass and nickel-plated metal highlights the luxurious character and exceptional quality of Czechoslovak glassmaking in the 1970s.

Historical background

During the 1970s, Preciosa was one of the leading Czechoslovak producers of decorative and technical lighting.
Jaroslav Bejvl Sr. was among its principal designers, creating iconic pieces that blended modernist forms with the fine craftsmanship of Czech glassmakers.
The collaboration with Osvětlovací sklo in Valašské Meziříčí brought the use of durable, richly textured pressed glass panels that became a hallmark of many designs of the era. Details
