Pendant light “BARRET” by Štěpán Tabery for Osvětlovací sklo n.p., Czechoslovakia, 1970s–80s
Product description
Product description
This bold pendant lamp was designed by Štěpán Tabery for Osvětlovací sklo n.p. in the 1970s–80s. The shade is crafted from hand-blown triplex opal glass, with the outer ruby-red color achieved by adding real ruby glass to the surface layer – a rare and refined glassmaking technique.
The pendant’s sculptural, bulbous form reflects the mid-century embrace of brutalism and futuristic modernism. Originally intended for high-end interiors, hotel lobbies, and public venues, it now stands as a coveted example of Czechoslovak lighting innovation.
A collector’s piece that radiates both light and design heritage.
