An exceptional functionalist cantilever chair, armchair from the 1930s, designed by Jindřich Halabala for UP Rousínov, one of the most prominent furniture manufacturers of interwar Czechoslovakia.
This is a fully original period piece, not a later reproduction.
The chair, armchair features a refined combination of chromed tubular steel and bent veneered wooden elements, including the sculptural seat and distinctive curved backrest with integrated arm support. The cantilever structural principle provides elegant lightness and remarkable seating comfort.

Historical background
During the 1930s, UP Rousínov stood at the forefront of modern Czechoslovak furniture production. Architect and designer Jindřich Halabala (1903–1978) played a key role in defining the aesthetic of Czech functionalism.
