Functionalist Cabinet / Bookcase with Original Chrome — Bauhaus Style — 1930s–40s
Product description
Product description
This original functionalist cabinet/bookcase from the late 1930s–1940s is a refined example of Czechoslovak modernism influenced by the Bauhaus movement. The chromed tubular steel legs combined with clean geometry and highly practical storage layout highlight the “form follows function” philosophy — while maintaining a timeless elegance that remains highly desirable today.
The veneered plywood corpus retains its authentic original surface and warm peach-tone coloration, paired with clear glass doors in the upper section. The condition is very good for its age — original chrome still shines beautifully, with only minor signs of use consistent with vintage character.
This piece comes from a complete functionalist room set, including four chairs (two armchairs / two armless), table, a stool, , all available separately.
Likely produced by SLEZAK functionalist manufacturer active in pre-war Czechoslovakia.
A versatile design piece that elevates both modern and eclectic interiors — perfect for books, glassware, or art objects.
