EXBOR n.p. – Exclusive Czechoslovak Art Glass
EXBOR n.p. was a state-run workshop for exclusive and artistic glass, established in 1964 as part of the national company Železnobrodské sklo in the Czech town of Železný Brod. It built on the town’s long-standing tradition of high-quality glassmaking.
The mission of EXBOR was to centralize artistic excellence, technical innovation, and manual craftsmanship into a unique design-focused glass studio. It specialized in vases, bowls, sculptures, and decorative objects crafted using advanced techniques such as layering, melting, cutting, and hand polishing – often produced in limited editions.
EXBOR quickly became a flagship of Czechoslovak glass design, presenting its works at international exhibitions (e.g. EXPO 67 in Montreal), and winning numerous awards.
